Boat show sponsor throws weight behind charity challenge
Posted: 4 April 2011
FAREHAM-based firm, PSP, is used to transporting boats across the world by sea. But now it’s throwing its support behind a man who is rowing a boat from London to Ukraine – by road.
PSP is sponsoring ‘Mad Cop’ Andy Seery, who plans to row a converted dinghy across 2,500km of some of Europe’s busiest roads to raise money for charity. The adapted boat will be powered by a series of pulleys that will work off a rowing machine and power the boat along the roads on wheels.
The gargantuan adventure will raise money for The ABF – The Soldiers’ Charity and the Guards PRI. PSP joins the likes of Sunseeker, Volvo Penta and West Ham United in sponsoring the challenge.
PSP’s Managing Director, Frank Dixie, said:
“This is a fantastic way to raise money for an incredibly worthy cause and we are 100 per cent behind Andy.”
