Fruitful finish for PSP
Posted: 4 October 2010
WORLDWIDE boat transportation firm, PSP, has struck a deal to transport powerboats stateside for two of Britain’s biggest boat manufacturers.
The Hampshire-based company will move two Fairlines and four Sunseekers to Florida in October, ready for the boats to be exhibited at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.
Both deals were set up during the PSP Southampton Boat Show, of which PSP is a title sponsor. Sunseeker signed on the dotted line during the show and Fairline cemented its contract on September 22, meaning PSP’s new sailing was launched and filled within days. In addition, PSP will also transport a P1 Powerboat on the same loading.
Managing Director, Frank Dixie, has described it as a huge accolade for PSP.
He said:
“Both of these major deals stemmed from our presence and hard work at the show and it has just gone to prove that our sponsorship reaps dividends for our business. All this comes at the tail end of what has been one of the company’s best performing years to date. While PSP is delighted with the response from the industry it has to be said that the industry is also the winner because good competition means good rates – which is something the industry sorely needed.”
2010 marked PSP’s third year of sponsorship of the PSP Southampton Boat Show and the firm was heavily involved in every aspect of the event. It ran its own courier service out of the show, allowing fellow exhibitors to ship customers’ goods back to their homes or businesses.
Frank Dixie and PSP’s Marketing and PR Manager, Jo Dixie, opened the show alongside celebrities Dawn Porter and Nick Hancock and the pair also took to the stage at the BMF dinner during the show as they performed with their band, Harry Hammersmith and the Flyovers.
Jo Dixie braved the cold waters of the Solent during the 10-day show as she took part in the Ladies Day sailing challenge and judged the Ladies Day competition alongside Powerboat P1 racer, Shelly Jory Lee.
The whole company also celebrated its sponsorship of the PSP Southampton Boat Show as it hosted a glittering party attended by customers, fellow exhibitors and marine industry leaders.
