PSP proves its mettle with booking deal for Dockwise’s maiden Southampton voyage

Independent Hampshire firm PSP has once again shown its might in the marine transport industry by agreeing to act as the exclusive UK retailer for the Dockwise maiden voyage sailing from Southampton to Palma de Mallorca and Marmaris, Turkey, in June 2010.
It is a huge step forward for Segensworth-based PSP, which provides worldwide freight forwarding, express courier services and packing as well as boat transportation.
Managing Director, Frank Dixie, said:
“This is huge for us and a signal of our intent. We’ve proven that we are a very serious player and in agreeing deals like this we are showing our mettle.
“Time and again we are proving that a lean, innovative company like ours is where customers are turning, thanks to our high levels of service and ability to be flexible and make quick decisions.”
The deal will see Dockwise’s float-on, float-off semi-submersible yacht carriers come to Southampton, the first time such ships have been seen in the port for many years.
Ann Souder, Dockwise’s Sales Manager for East Coast USA, the Caribbean and UK, said:
“We were looking for a shipping company based in the UK that we could work in co-operation with to enhance our position in the UK market.
“PSP were new getting into the market and what appealed to us was that they were going aggressively after the shipping business with their sponsorship of the PSP Southampton Boat Show and we were looking for a UK retail outlet for us that we thought could help support our business as well.”
The Dockwise agreement marks the start of 2010 with a bang for PSP, which puts a great emphasis on supporting the marine industry, something that is evident through its continued sponsorship of the PSP Southampton Boat Show.
