PSP welcomes The Clipper Round the World Race in Ireland

Posted: 22 July 2010

WORLDWIDE boat transportation and freight forwarding firm, PSP, visited Kinsale in Ireland to welcome the Clipper boats taking part in this year’s Clipper Round the World Race.

PSP was appointed the official logistics partner for the world-famous Clipper 09-10 Race back in 2009. As one of the leading freight forwarders in southern England, PSP has been providing logistical support to the boats on their 35,000 mile journey. PSP has been managing the freight containers, which transport the race equipment round the world.

Marketing and PR Manager, Jo Dixie, along with Sail Boat Transportation Manager, Alex Dixie, welcomed the Clipper boats to Kinsale before entertaining clients and boat brokers. During their visit they also dined with the Mayor of Kinsale, had the privilege of meeting yachtsman Sir Robin Knox Johnston and experienced a wet and windy Clipper boat race.

Jo Dixie said:

“One of the highlights was getting to taste the Clipper race experience. It was really wet and windy which meant we got an authentic experience and it gave us a deeper understanding of what the competitors are faced with.”

Once the pair had their own taste of Clipper racing they waved off the competitors as they sailed for their next stop, Cork.
