Frank Dixie gives industry top advice at ISAF conference

Posted: 9 November 2010

Frank Dixie, Managing Director of worldwide logistics company, PSP, gave delegates at the ISAF 2010 Conference in Athens an insight into the world of boat transportation this week.

Frank presented at the Connect to Sailing Seminar, one of the largest and most popular sessions of the week.

At the seminar delegates from across the globe heard from a number of leading dinghy manufacturers on the merits and suitability of their boats for sail training and grass roots development.

But knowing what boats are available is only the first step – you have to get them to where you want them and that’s where Frank shared his expert knowledge.

He explained how simple this can be by working with PSP, whose expertise and superior customer service takes the complexities of shipping logistics away.

With good, straight forward advice Frank recommended that sailing could benefit by classes, sailor and national authorities working together to share shipping and therefore be more cost-conscious.

In talking about the complexities of logistics, Frank forewarned the audience that Brazil is perhaps the most complex country PSP deals with in terms of logistics, giving those planning for their racing in 2016 food for thought.

He concluded that, as with all logistics, advanced planning is the key and the best advanced planning is to get in touch with the experts.

PSP is an official supplier to ISAF.
