Success follows sponsorship for PSP

Posted: 10 December 2008

Following in the wake of its extremely successful title sponsorship of the PSP Southampton Boat Show earlier this year, PSP, one of the country’s leading freight forwarding companies, is seeing its business go from strength to strength. Even in this tough economic climate, the company, with its specialist marine knowledge, has decided to go ahead with a second year of sponsorship.

Managing Director, Frank Dixie said:

“We are thrilled to announce that we will once more be the title sponsor of the PSP Southampton Boat Show. The marine industry has been very good to us and we are proud to be able to support it in our turn.”

On top of this, PSP is proud to announce a series of new partnership contracts with such well-known names as Powerboat P1, Ondeck and MDL. Powerboat P1, the fastest-growing offshore series in the world, has appointed PSP as consultants and logistics provider.

Frank Dixie said:

“Our first-class reputation for cost-effectively moving yachts, motorboats and powerboats of all types and sizes around the world made this a natural and desirable partnership.”

Andy Hindley, P1’s Racing and Events Director agrees:

“Getting boats and equipment to our numerous race locations either makes or breaks the events. It’s not something you take chances with, yet at the same time you have to control the budget.”

PSP is also proud to announce it will be the logistics provider for Ondeck, the UK’s fastest-growing sail charter company and power and sailing school. PSP will provide a wealth of knowledge and expertise in moving yachts as well as spares such as rudders and masts for the company. PSP will be opening up an office in Antigua where Ondeck already runs a very successful operation and the two companies will be working side-by-side.

Ondeck’s Operations Director Sam Sainsbury says:

“We are delighted to be working with such an experienced and high calibre partner. We are constantly trying to improve and upgrade the service we offer our clients and we believe our relationship with PSP will be of enormous benefit to them.”

Frank Dixie adds:

“This promises to be a very constructive association with Ondeck. I see it as the beginning of a hard-working and long-term relationship”.

Finally, as a direct result of its sponsorship of the PSP Southampton Boat Show 2008, PSP has also been appointed by MDL Marinas to handle transportation of boats to its new marina at Sant Carles in southern Spain.
