Successful PSP Southampton Boat Show for Sponsors, PSP

THE sponsor of the PSP Southampton Boat Show has reported a prosperous 2009 show.
PSP, which took the mantle of title sponsor for the second year, has had hundreds of enquiries about its worldwide boat transportation service and made thousands of new contacts. New business links have been made as Managing Director, Frank Dixie, has attended several successful meetings with key players in the marine industry.
He said:
“We at PSP have found this year’s show unbelievably positive, with the marine fraternity embracing us with open arms. The sponsorship has proved a great success and committing to next year’s sponsorship was the easiest decision I’ve ever made. We can only thank NBS for their fantastic support and now we need to recover from the great effort everyone has put into this show and look forward to next year.”
The Hampshire-based freight forwarding firm is no typical sponsor. The family-run firm has got involved in every aspect of the 10-day show, with the managing director even climbing a 31-metre mast during it. His daughter, Jo Dixie, PSP’s PR and Marketing Manager, also climbed the mast alongside Powerboat P1 champion, Shelly Jory, judged the Ladies’ Day competition and opened the show alongside popstar, Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Other PSP staff donned fancy dress as they treated customers, suppliers, friends and National Boat Shows guests to an aquatic themed party at Orange Rooms.
PSP’s hospitality lounge was a whirlwind of activity throughout the show as it has played host to valued clients such as Powerboat P1, the world’s marine press, Sailability and even HRH The Princess Royal.
After the success of this year’s PSP Southampton Boat Show, the firm has decided it will exhibit at The Tellett Prebon London International Boat Show in January 2010.
