WORLDWIDE freight forwarding company, PSP, will continue its title sponsorship of the PSP Southampton Boat Show for a minimum period of two further years, it was announced today.
The news was made public during the opening day of this year’s show, which marks PSP’s fifth consecutive year of sponsorship.
Managing Director, Frank Dixie, said the move will allow PSP to build on its brand awareness, continue to expand its business and further cement its position within the marine industry.
PSP, which provides worldwide freight forwarding and boat transportation among other services, first agreed to take sponsorship of the show in 2008, signing a three-year deal. In January 2011 it extended its sponsorship for a further two years, making this year’s show potentially the last in its reign of sponsorship.
However, the Fareham-based firm has decided to extend the deal with organisers National Boat Shows until at least 2014, meaning the Southampton show will continue to be named the “PSP Southampton Boat Show” for the next two years and will benefit from substantial investment.
Frank Dixie said:
“Five years ago we began our sponsorship of the PSP Southampton Boat Show, which was part of a major strategy that would enable us to be one of the worldʼs leading boat transportation companies by essentially becoming a part of the marine and sailing fraternity.
“Having spent half a decade as sponsors, putting ourselves face to face with exactly the type of businesses we want to speak to, we now feel that we are truly a part of the marine industry and the evidence is in the many successes of PSP in recent years.
“However, as an ambitious company in pursuit of perfection in all we do, there are many things we feel we’d still like to do within the industry and continuing our sponsorship of the PSP Southampton Boat Show will allow us to charge at these goals head-on.”
Murray Ellis, Managing Director of National Boat Shows, added:
“We are delighted that PSP has continued its sponsorship for another two years. It’s fantastic news for the show,
its visitors, exhibitors, the BMF and the marine industry as a whole. All of these will benefit from PSP’s considerable investment in the event.”
PSP has strengthened its hold within the boat transportation market during its five-year sponsorship of the annual marine event. Throughout that time it has twice been selected as Official Logistics Partner for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, established a worldwide boat transportation alliance, opened a joint venture office in India, bought its headquarters in Fareham outright and planned and handled logistics for the likes of ISAF, America’s Cup, Sunseeker, Fairline and Princess.
