New appointments
Jun 2013

Three new appointments have been made to the board at PSP, the worldwide logistics firm based in Hampshire. Longstanding employees Mike Austin, Alex Dixie and Jo Dixie have been made directors in a move that marks the latest stage in the company’s five-year expansion plan.

Mike Austin has been made sales director, having worked for the company for 11 years. Mike joined the company after leaving school and quickly rose through the ranks, running PSP’s operation in Vietnam and then becoming air freight and courier manager at PSP’s headquarters in Fareham.

Alex Dixie, who oversees the transportation of every sail boat that comes through PSP, has become a director. Alex has been an integral part of the PSP machine for seven years, working across several departments and transporting boats for the likes of Dee Caffari, Etchells, The Clipper Round the World Race and ISAF.

Jo Dixie has been made marketing director and will be responsible for driving the company’s marketing strategy forward. During her time at PSP she has spearheaded the firm’s sponsorship of the PSP Southampton Boat Show and championed the use of digital marketing.

PSP’s managing director, Frank Dixie, says the appointments were made to help PSP realise its expansion potential and increase its market share.

He added:

“We are two years into our latest five-year expansion plan and already we have increased the turnover of our marine division by 10 per cent and the turnover of our commercial boat transportation by 20 per cent. However, we will not rest on our laurels and bringing in new blood to the board is vital to help us move closer to our goal. In the short term, the new appointments will bring fresh outlooks and fresh ideas to help us gain an even stronger market share. In the long term, they will be the ones at the helm, helping to set even more ambitious growth strategies for 10, 20 years down the line.”
