PSP has selected Sea-Changers as its chosen charity to support during the PSP Southampton Boat Show this September.
Each year PSP, title sponsor of the show, chooses a charity or charities to support throughout the event and helps them raise awareness through use of its hospitality suite and high-profile stand during the show.
Sea-Changers is a new national charity on a mission to improve the health of the UK’s seas. It works with marine and other businesses to raise money for vital marine conservation projects, which it funds through grants.
Founded in 2011, Sea-Changers has distributed some 24 grants to UK-based projects.
All of the projects intend to have a long-term impact on the marine environment and are often carried out at a community or grass roots level.
Managing Director of PSP, Frank Dixie, said: “It is our pleasure to support Sea-Changers by selecting it as our chosen charity for the PSP Southampton Boat Show 2014.
“With 70 per cent of our worldwide transportation taking place via sea, we are conscious of our impact on the environment and keen to work with charities and organisations to protect our oceans and coastlines.
“Choosing Sea-Changers as our charity for this year’s show is just one way we can do that and we look forward to helping them raise lots of money that will fund important projects across the UK.”
Rachel Lopata, Co-Founder at Sea-Changers said: “We’re absolutely thrilled and honoured to have been chosen by PSP as their partner for this year’s PSP Southampton Boat Show. We can’t wait to work alongside the PSP team to raise money, but also to raise awareness of the issues facing the marine environment. We aim to make the most of this fantastic opportunity to share our vision of how all marine businesses, and every one of us who loves of the sea, can contribute to improving the health of the oceans.”
The PSP Southampton Boat Show will run from September 12 – 21. With hundreds of boats, brands, suppliers and attractions, it is a 10-day boating spectacular for all the family.
