At this stage of the 40,000 mile global adventure, the crew has seen many stunning sights of natural world from spectacular sunsets to wondrous waves, all of which they’ve captured for us to share with you. Now, as the fleet approaches one of the man-made wonders of the world, the Panama Canal, we are offering £150 towards their crew fund in New York for the team that best captures the essence of this stage of the race.
As the Clipper Race fleet motors to and through the Panama Canal, the Race 10 sponsor PSP Logistics has set the teams a task to test their creativity with a handsome reward for the most impressive effort.
Frank Dixie, Managing Director of PSP Logistics says: “This year we are once again challenging Clipper Race crew to capture the sights of the magnificent Panama Canal during Race 10, the PSP Logistics Panama Cup.
“We are inviting crew to submit images during their trip to - and on - the canal; from the yachts passing through the locks, container ships negotiating tight turns, some of the country’s beautiful natural assets or a snapshot of the fast-paced life on board. Entrants are invited to be as creative as they want – PSP wants the images to capture the moment that best reflects the engineering masterpiece, the Panama Canal, for crew.”
As the images are sent back, they will be displayed on our PSP company Facebook page. Voting will open and a shortlist drawn up according to the number of ‘likes’ the photos get so make sure you ‘like’ PSP’s page so you don’t’ miss out when new entries are added. The overall winner will be decided by PSP Logistics and the prize money allocated upon arrival into New York.
Last year’s winner is the image used in the main banner of the story, the idea was Qingdao's but as they couldn't have pulled it off without crew mates on PSP Logistics and Switzerland they shared their prize across the three teams.
